Melamine faced particleboard / chipboard sheets are available in standard P2 V20-E1 as well as fire-retardant P2 or moisture resistant P3 and P5 grades. All colours are available in all thicknesses and surface finishes. We can also search for new decors or non-standard dimensions if you wish.

  • Decors: uni-, wood-, or fantasy- decor, authentic aluminium or digital print (single-sided or double-sided)
  • Surface finish: raw matt, matt, woodgrain, pearl or natural matt; some uni-decors available in glossy
  • Thicknesses: 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22, 25, 28, 30, 38, 50 mm
  • Lengths: 2550, 2750, 3050, 3300, 3675, 4200 mm
  • Widths: 1250, 1270 mm

For larger projects, we can purchase sheets of specific dimensions, which greatly reduces the cost of processing and finishing the product.

  • Processing operations: custom cutting, edge gluing, grooves, runners, and drilled holes
  • Minimum order: 10 sheets

DUHOSPAN® sheets comply with the requirements specified in the EN 14322 standard; refer to the table “General requirements at dispatch”, which can be downloaded here.

Standard particleboard V20-E1 is made of wood chips, wood shavings, and sawdust in combination with aminoplastic glues, which are a type of urea formaldehyde. Our particleboard sheets have a three-layered structure, with finer wood particles present in the surface layer and coarser particles in the core. The wood particles come from softer types of wood (50% deciduous and 50% coniferous) and contain a maximum of 5% of beach or oak.

Toxicological information

Particleboard sheets contain a minimum quantity of formaldehyde from the glue used in the production process. Formaldehyde is considered to be possibly carcinogenic, and a concentration of 100 ppm is a health hazard. A perforator value of 8mg/100g of dry sheet corresponds to a concentration of 0.1 ppm in the ambient air. The product complies with the required emission class E1 and can therefore be considered harmless.

Moisture content and climate conditions

The moisture content of the sheets varies between 5% and 13%. The recommended climate conditions for spaces used to store standard particleboard are between 12°C and 20°C and a relative humidity between 50% and 60% with a maximum of 65%. Under increasingly humid conditions, particleboard sheets may increase in length and width. Depending upon the type of sheet concerned, this increase can be roughly between 0.5 mm and 1.5 mm per linear metre if the moisture content of the sheet increases from 7 – 8 % to 13 – 14%.

Storage and transport

The sheets should be stored under the climate conditions described above. Particleboard sheets should be stacked flat, at least 10 cm from the ground, with support beams every 60 to 80 cm. The height of the stack should not exceed 90 cm. If several packets are stacked, the support beams should be positioned exactly one above the other. The sheets should be stacked as flat as possible and the edges should be aligned with each other to minimize the risk of damage to the corners.

Melamine faced products can best be cleaned with a general household cleaning agent. A clean cloth should be used regularly. Greasy residues can also be removed with thinner, but after doing so, you should immediately clean the surface with water and a clean cloth. Never use abrasive agents.

If requested, DUHOSPAN is available with a PEFC or FSC® certificate. You can download this certificate here.

Fire behaviour

DUHOSPAN® is also available in P2 fire-retardant quality, Euroclass B or Euroclass C.

Processing operations

Saréco can process your sheets as follows:

  • Custom cutting
  • Edge banding, if necessary on all four sides
  • Making a groove and/or saw-cut
  • Making drilled holes or slits in the surface
  • Custom milling/cutting patterns and gluing the edges

Moisture resistance

DUHOSPAN® is available in moisture-resistant quality grade P3 or P5 and also in combination with Euroclass C.
